Poacher who killed three baboon families was eaten alive by a pride of lions

A trophy hunter/poacher, identified as 50-year-old David Baloyi from Mavodze in Mozambique, was killed by a pride of lions that he was trying to poach after having entered a private game reserve near Kruger National Park and using as bait three baboon families that he just killed.

It was first suspected that a tractor driver who works at the reserve was the victim. However, the lions left some of Baloyi’s remains and his head in tact — which is how his family was able to identify him. A hunting rifle was also found near the victim.

IRONY. As Trevanian put it, “Irony is Fate’s most common figure of speech.”
